Natural Principles in Stone Cleaning and Polishing

The Polishing of Stone in Nature. It's Worth a Study.

Wind, Rain, Water and Microscopic Particles are Used to Polish Natural Stone...

In the natural world, the process of stone polishing occurs through the collaborative efforts of wind, water, and dust particles. Wind carries tiny, abrasive dust particles that gradually erode the rough edges of stones over time. Meanwhile, water plays a crucial role in further refining the surface of the stones as it flows over them, smoothing out imperfections and enhancing their appearance. This dynamic interaction between wind, water, and dust particles results in the formation of stunningly polished stones that can be discovered in various natural settings.

The combination of water and very fine abrasive particles can also be used to polish stone floors, enhancing their appearance and durability. By applying this mixture to the surface of the stone and using a polishing machine, the abrasive particles help to smooth out any imperfections and create a shiny, polished finish. This process not only increases the density of the stone, making it more resistant to wear and tear, but also helps to seal the surface, making it less susceptible to soil penetration and staining. As a result, polished stone floors not only look more attractive but also last longer and are easier to maintain.

The Proper Way to Clean and Preserve Grouted Tile Floors

When Tile & Grout Require Deep Cleaning:

We use a system of activated ACD:

  • Activated Aqueous Chlorine Dioxide - When we require a solution that can deep clean grouted floors without driving the soil deeper into the substrate, we look to Envirotab Tablets. This creates an oxidizing solution that we blend with a detergent to get a boosted cleaning result.
  • BoostiO2, The Activator- BoostiO2 acts as both the power-detergent and the buffer for the ClO2. It is a powerful cleaner and absorber for the gas, slow-releasing it to neutralize any odors or bacteria.
  • What's Left at the End - At the end of the process, you have clean, deodorized and sanitized ceramic tiles and grout lines.

Diamond Tough Nano Particles for Cleaning Concrete & Terrazzo

Cleaning and Polishing without Chemical Whenever Possible - That's the Green Way...

Here's why we clean and polish stone floors using just water and diamond abrasive tools and pads:

  1. Environmentally Friendly: Water-based methods reduce the need for chemical cleaners, making them more eco-friendly. Unlike traditional chemical-based solutions, water doesn’t harm the environment or release harmful fumes.
  2. Health and Safety: Water-based cleaning minimizes exposure to toxic chemicals, benefiting both users and occupants of the space. It’s especially important in indoor environments where air quality matters.
  3. Surface Preservation: Diamond abrasive tools gently remove dirt, stains, and imperfections without causing damage to the stone surface. The water acts as a lubricant, preventing excessive friction and heat buildup.
  4. Consistent Results: Water ensures uniformity during the polishing process. It helps maintain a consistent finish across the entire floor, enhancing its appearance.
  5. Cost-Effective: While diamond abrasives are an initial investment, they last longer than traditional pads and require less frequent replacement. Water is readily available and inexpensive.

We recognize that proper technique and equipment are crucial for achieving optimal results. We can show you how regular maintenance with water and diamond abrasives can keep your stone floors looking their best, and we can help you get your floors right and keep them right!
